Canon 15th Edition of Photomarathon Ends with Big Winners

Celebrating its 15th year since the first instalment, photo enthusiasts gathered for this year’s Canon PhotoMarathon this year. Held at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, the region’s largest annual photo competition challenges photography enthusiasts to push their boundaries in photography skills, all under time pressure.

In its 15th year, the event has grown in geographic reach to become ever more dynamic, and includes parallel competitions around the region including Brunei, Cambodia, China Mainland, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.Canon Press Release

After going through the images that has won the judges’ votes, it is interesting to note that there is a pattern that can be seen.

The most obvious of all, the judges seems to eschew bright colours, seemingly to vote for monochromatic, or singular colour tone.

The examples shown below aren’t a representation of those that made it to the winners’s podium; it just made the majority.

It would be a useful point to take note for participants of future photomarathons.
